TIDA-00010: Clarification needed on TIDA-00010 block diagram, design & Schematics.

Part Number: TIDA-00010

We are in the process of designing a transmission pulse oximeter. After did detailed research, we have found that TIDA-00010 seems a perfect match for our project.

But before proceeding further with the TIDA-00010, we would like to get clarification from the TI team on the following doubts which we are having in the TIDA-00010 block diagram and design.

  1. Instead of MSP4305528 MCU & CC2541 BLE module, can we use Arduino Nano as MCU? We need to send the measured (SpO2 & Heart Rate) data to computer via USB.
  2. If we can use Arduino Nano as a MCU instead of MSP4305528 & CC2541 MCU, can we use the same design in the below link based on AFE4490 + Arduino nano to measure SpO2 and Heart Rate?

3. Can we remove the battery management system from the schematic? Since we are planning to power up the system using USB power lines.

4. Can we remove FRAM since we need to send signals in real-time and stored in an external system?

  • Hello Viknesh,

I am not familiar with the Arduino Nano MCU but so long as the SPI interface and other digital lines are used as mentioned in the AFE4900 datasheet, then it should be fine. Yes, you may remove the battery management if the system is powered up from the USB and the FRAM if you do not plan to use it.
