PSpice-TI Simulation Error

Hi,

Please find attached a circuit simulation file. Here, I have used an op-amp 'AD8479' Pspice model which was not available on PSpice Tool. So I generated part using PSpice file. However I have encountered an error while simulating. Cn anyone help me with that error?

Thanks,

Sandeep

  • Hello,

I cannot open your design unfortunately. It looks like some files are missing. Could you please use File -> Archive Project to pack up your design? I believe I need the schematic and the .dsn file. I will also send you a PM if you prefer to communicate that way.

    Thank you,

    Jackie

    Hi Jackie,

Please find attached the archived project file which includes .dsn and .opj files.

    Thanks,

    Sandeep

  • Thank you. I am looking into the issue and I will let you know my findings.

  • Hello Sandeep,

Can you please tell me the error messages you are receiving? Is it the following, or something different?

    ERROR(ORPSIM-16363): Command invalid in subcircuit

    ERROR(ORPSIM-16499): Missing .ENDS in .SUBCKT

    Thank you,

    Jackie

  • Yes, that's the error which is displayed after simulation.

  • Hello Sandeep,

I looked at the .cir file and do see all .ENDS statements in place. Meanwhile, the file uses UNIX End-Of-Line and that could be the reason PSpice cannot read it. Please convert it to the WIndows EOL and try again.

If you have access to a UNIX/LINUX system, there's a command called "unix2dos" which can do the conversion.
If you only have Windows, you can modify the file with notepad++ (Edit -> EOL Conversion -> Windows CRLF ).

However, after this, the simulation gave me new errors. Please try the fix as suggested above and let me know if you have different errors. The new errors may indicate that the model is not supported by PSpice.

    Thank you

  • Hello Sandeep,

We have looked further into this and ultimately the issue is with the model. We would recommend reaching out to the model supplier (Analog Devices) to verify if this model is compatible with PSpice for TI.

(To anyone else reading this forum post, the errors as described above were resolved by changing to the Windows EOL settings, but a new "parameter error" appeared instead. This parameter error is indicative of an unsupported model.)

Thank you Sandeep for using our forum to look into this issue. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
