Hi there,
I experienced that any XDS110 of a CC2650 Launpad board can not be used to program a CC1310 core and vise versa.
That is not logical, please confirm and tell how to work around.
Thanks

Hi Ralph,
The XDS110 can be used to program other SimpleLink devices if the jumper hardware is configured properly: https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AFOK.QNl.ShhWoj--4FV-A__FUz-xrs__LATEST

Excuse me, THAT IS NOT THE CASE! I have both launchpads and I can not program a CC1310 with the CC2650 launchpad. However, I used to do that. I am working since 2014 with the simplelink family.
But now, may be with the latest debugger update, not longer possible.
do the following setup:
now start a new session in uniflash. first of all uniflash shows you an CC2650F128 as connected core. OK click on '[more info]' and read the device
you get this result:
replace the CC2650 LAUNCGPAD with a CC1310 Launchpad and it works
so please tell me what I do wrong here or revise your latest XDS110 Firmware!
This fact did cost us so far a lot of time, money and a client, expecting that any XDS110 debugger can program any JTag device at least inside the Simplelink family
Thanks
Are you able to program a different LAUNCHXL-CC2650 device with the first XDS110 debugger? And does the behavior change any if using FLASH-PROGRAMMER or CCSTUDIO?
Regards,
Ryan
Yepp, everything works fine with same chip family. I experience the same in CCS and it does not work wise versa. So it is not a single hardware.
Thank you for reminding about Flashprogrammer2 it works seamlessly.
So it is a bug in CCS and Uniflash, please let me know when this is planned to be fixed.
Remember, debugging in CCS is as well not possible if the launchpad is of different chip families.
Best wishes
Hi Ralph,
Let me see if I can replicate the issue on my end. I'll follow up tomorrow with either a solution or a plan to fix the issue.
Thanks,
Alexis
Hi Ralph,
I didn't have the exact boards you used handy, but I tried with the CC1312R1 LaunchPad and the CC2642R1 LaunchPad and I wasn't able to replicate the issue. I was able to program the CC26x2 with the XDS of the CC1312 using CCS.
Can you confirm that you're using the latest version of CCS and the latest SDK?
Thanks,
Alexis
