TIDA-00909: Component Libraries

Part Number: TIDA-00909

Hello Team,

Good day.

Currently my customer is having trouble working our reference designs TIDA-00909 in Altium. They downloaded the files from our webpage and opened the project in Altium. However, they have noticed that none of the component libraries have been included.
Meaning none of the footprint information is included resulting in lots of errors.

Regards,

Renan

  • Dear Renan,

thank you for the interest in the TI reference design TIDA-00909 and pointing out the issue with the Altium library,

II tried today on my laptop with Altium version 18.1. and I have the same challenge with TIDA-00909 reported by your customer. The reason is that when we designed the TIDA-00909 in 2016, we used an internal TI library for components in Altium, which is not part of the Altium project on TI.com. Unfortunately I don't have a local copy from the 2016 internal TI Altium component library on my laptop.

I need some time to find out if this can be solved.

  • Hello Martin,

Good day and thank you for this response. Looking forward for the solution on this.

  • Hello Renan,

We are not able to provide the Altium component library used with the TIDA-00909 Altium project such as TI_Pre_Release1.IntLib anymore.

To modify the footprint of components an option is to delete that specific component in the Altium project and import the same component from the component library your customer has available with his Altium installation.

If no change of components and related footprint is desired you customer should still be able to see the footprint on the PCB in Altium. It should also be possible to change the layout itself, or moving components. Of course no change to the footprint itself. At least this works with my Altium rev. 18.1. Please see U1 footprint, when I moved U1 in the TIDA-00909 PCB for test purpose.

I am not aware of another option.
