TINA/Spice/SN74CBTD3861: IBIS model issue

Part Number: SN74CBTD3861
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

The buffer IC model  sn74cbtd3861 is a bidirectional IC model. But it do not have the option to configure the model as Output Buffer IC. Can you please check the IBIS model and let us know why we are not able to configure the output Buffer for the same model.

  • Hi Deekshitha,

It's not really an OUTPUT. It is a low-impedence pass-through when on.

    From the product description:

The device is organized as one 10-bit switch with a single output-enable (OE)\ input. When (OE)\ is low, the switch is on, and port A is connected to port B. When (OE)\ is high, the switch is open, and the high-impedance state exists between the two ports.

For this reason, the device was modeled using a series_switch model. This provides for the pass-through behavior when on, and the high-impedence when off.

    Regards,

    David Larkin
