Hey Team,

Can the TIDA-01604 be used as an inverter from 400VDC to 240VAC or 120VAC? I see that it says bidirectional in the title, but I want to make sure because the Key System Specifications Table lists the input to be the AC signal and output as VDC.

Hi Dajon,

Yes, it can be used. No hardware change is required. For software you could refer to TIDM-02008. It is using the same architecture with HV GaN.

What would be the benefit of using this software over the software provided for the TIDA-01604?

Hi Dajon,

1604 is unidirectional, 02008 is bidirectional. That is the main difference.

Xun,

Additionally - will the TIDA-01604 operate as a voltage source Inverter? It says it is a grid tie inverter which means it is a current source inverter, correct? We would like it to operate on its own without tying to the grid.

Hi Dajon,

TIDA-01604 operates as voltage source PFC. It can be operated without ting to the gird but requires control modification and software change.
