[FAQ] PSPICE-FOR-TI: Can I define my own model in PSpice for TI?

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI

I use a few MOSFET but there're no models for them. Is there a generic model that I can adjust parameters to fit the datasheet?

  • PSpice for TI provides a convenient way for users to customize frequently used components such as sources, non-ideal passives, MOSFET, etc.

To access these configurable components, click "Place" → "PSpice Component..." → "Modeling Application..." or click this icon:

The modeling application panel will show up:

Click on the component you want to use, a property window will be displayed in which you can modify the model parameters:

Click the "Place" button to add your new component to the schematic. Your simulation will automatically use the model you just created.

If you need to tweak the model, select the instance in the schematic and press SHIFT-N to bring up the property window again. Alternatively, you can also right-click and select "More..." → "Edit PSpice Component":
