PSPICE-FOR-TI: PSpice-for-TI installer crashes.

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3251, TPA3255, TINA-TI

Tried to install this and get the same result even on different machines.  I enter the login information and click Sign-in and it crashes. Log file and screen shot attached below.

Tried several times with virus scanner off and erasing temp folders but still no luck.  Any ideas?

I'm just trying to work out a design with TPA3251, TPA3255. I've done previous designs with TINA-TI using the TPA3116 and TPA3156 but there are no TINA-TI models for newer class d amp chips.

Any chance there could be TINA-TI models of TPA3255 and TPA3251?  Could work with simplified models, too.

Screenshot (not much help):

  • Hi Ron,

Sorry to hear that you ran into trouble installing PSpice for TI. Would you please gather some additional information for us to troubleshoot this?

    Here are the steps:

    Unzip the attached file.

    1) Copy both the files ( VblInstallerTest.exe and cdsvbl.dll) into some directory on the user’s machine.

    2) Open a Command Prompt and go to the directory where files were copied.

    3) Set the environment variable:

    set CDS_LIC_QA_TesT=vbl_qa.log

    4) Invoke "VblInstallerTest.exe <user-product-key>" , replacing <user-product-key> with actual access key the user specifies during installation.

If crash encountered and "VblInstallerTest.exe has stopped working" error box appears, choose "Close the program".

Wait until previous command exits. ( may take a few minutes).

    5) Collect vbl_qa.log from current folder

Collect VBL_minidump_<pid>.dmp if was generated in current folder (can be 60+MB in size)

    7485.cds_VBLfiles.zip

    Thanks,
    JC
