[TIDM-1WIREFREEPROM] Any patent on 1-Wire bus?

Hi champs,

We have TIDM-1WIREFREEPROM TI Design, use MSP430 to simulate 1-Wire EEPROM function.

Is there any specific patent on MAXIM 1-Wire communication bus? Please advise if you have any idea, thanks in advance.

Regards,

Luke

  • According to the legal status of Dallas Semi's patent US6108751, it has expired in 2012: www.google.com/.../US6108751

    Anyway, it would be great to have the TIDM-1WIREFREEPROM available for evaulation:
    1. it can be used for educational reasons and as a good starter with the FRAM MSP;
    2. it can be indeed used in a commercial device, as there are no patents in force (and if they were, still a good probability to reach an agreement with Dallas/Maxim for a fee).

    If possible, please return the example firmware for download. I would buy the FRAM kits immediately, if I knew I can play with this exact firmware.

    Regards,
