TIDA-050017: Is there any easier way to limit current and voltage for TEC

My customer is doing a design for the controller for their TEC, and is currently considering using our DAC.

They saw our TIDA-050017 design and is wondering if there's any other easier way to control the current and the voltage.

Do we have any solution regarding this case?

Hi David,

TIDA-050017 is the only solution we have. the current can only be controlled by external circuit. the buck-boost device can't limit the TEC current.

Thanks for answering. What external circuit can the customer use to limit TEC current if they want to use the TIDA-050017?

Hi David,

could we utilize the temperature of the TEC to limit the power?

if you want to directly control the TEC current, we need to current sensing resistor and amplifier to detect the TEC current.
