TIDA-010057: Can I adjust the output voltage of high power side?

Part Number: TIDA-010057
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE5832, TX7332, , LM3488, LM51551

Hello TI experts,

My customer considers 4 x TX7332 and 2 x AFE5832 for their product.

they have to think about power tree, and I am going to suggest TIDA-010057.

and here are some questions,

1. in the guide document, positive/negative output voltage is up to +/-80V. can I adjust it to +/-100V?

if not, can you recommend other IC instead of LM3488?

2. what is the maximum current of this reference?

my customer wants over 3A for 4 x TX7332.

please check these issues. Thanks.

Best regards,

Chase

  • Hi Chase,

    Please find my response below:

    1. in the guide document, positive/negative output voltage is up to +/-80V. can I adjust it to +/-100V?

if not, can you recommend other IC instead of LM3488?

TI: The maximum output is dependent on the maximum duty cycle the converter can support. The formula for duty cycle is given as D = Vo+Vd/(Vo+Vin+Vd)

where Vo is output voltage, Vin is input voltage and Vd is the diode drop.

For 100V output and 5V input (assume 1V diode drop), required Duty is 95.3%. LM3488 can go up to 100% and that is the reason of using that.

If your input voltage is higher and your switching frequency is low <250kHz, you might consider using LM51551.

    2. what is the maximum current of this reference?

TI: The maximum output current of TX7332 is configurable from 1.2 A to 0.3 A.

Hence 4 Tx7332 can support 3A of current.

    Thanks & regards,
