My customer is searching for a constant voltage and current charging solution with BUCK topology, I promote TIDA-010075 to them, and they have following 2 questions related to the reference design, would you please help to give some comments on that?
1. Can this solution be used in supercapacitor charging application? As the initial voltage level of the supercapacitor is 0V, will this cause any short circuit condition? I suppose not as capacitor should be taken as open circuit for DC voltage?
2. Can the circled resistor to be put at the positive side of the battery/supercapacitor and a FDA can be used instead of a amplifier. One thing I could think about here is the common-mode input voltage range of the FDA should be taken care of.
