PMP12072: FET inquiry and recommendation

Hi Guys, 

Good day! Could you help us provide information about part number for Q3 and Q4 and are they P- or N-Channel MOSFET? The BOM does not state which one it is. www.ti.com/.../tidro94.pdf

Another question is, since according to the recommendation it states we can add more FETs, should we add only Q1 and Q2 or when should we add Q1, Q2 Q3 and Q4. Kindly enlighten us please.

    Hi Jonathan,

    The original designer for this project is out of office so I will try to respond. 

    The FETs Q3 and Q4 were not populated on the board. That's why they show up as "ALT" in the BOM. The test report shows the performance of the design without those FETs (Q3 and Q4) populated. If you need higher power/current capability, you could consider adding/installing those FETs. They would be N-channel FETs just like Q1 and Q2. As you can see in the schematic, Q1 and Q3 are connected in parallel and Q2 and Q4 are connected in parallel.
