TMD64 SBL problem

Hello ,

I am trying to build my own SBL for TMD64 board , I tried the ready example to boot from OSPI and It failed "status = Bootloader_parseMultiCoreAppImage(bootHandle, &bootImageInfo);" return -1 and the booting is halted so , how can I fix that

I am having trouble finding part "TMD64". Could you please type out the full part number?

What version of software are you trying to boot?

Hi Mohamed,

First of all, you need to do the steps in

file:///C:/ti/mcu_plus_sdk_am64x_08_00_00_21/docs/api_guide_am64x/EVM_SETUP_PAGE.html#EVM_FLASH_SOC_INIT

If you want to use prebuilt SBL OSPI to boot an hello world example, you will need to follow the steps in

file:///C:/ti/mcu_plus_sdk_am64x_08_00_00_21/docs/api_guide_am64x/GETTING_STARTED_FLASH.html

At this point, you can import and build the SBL OSPI example

I assume you load and run the SBL OSPI example using CCS from C:\ti\mcu_plus_sdk_am64x_08_00_00_21\examples\drivers\boot\sbl_ospi

Now you can use the CCS to load and run the OUT file generated by the SBL OSPI example CCS project. The CCS loaded OUT file will replace the SBL in OSPI to load the hello world example from OSPI flash.

Hello ,

Actually I was replacing the SBL on OSPI using u-boot commands (booted source is EMMC)

sf probe 0
sf erase 0x00000 0x100000
fatload mmc 1 ${loadaddr} tiboot3.bin
sf update $loadaddr 0x0 $filesize

after I update the file on the SD-CARD.

and even I used the ready made example it failed ,

when I tried to load it using CSS the result was the same also , but my goal here is to flash it on OSPI and finally make u-boot works.

Hi Mohamed,

You got me confused. AM64x EVM supports boot from three types of media: OSPI flash, UART and SD Card. Booting user applications from SD card is not yet supported. Use this only as part of SOC Initialization Using SD BOOT. If you want to boot you own application program, you may have to either OPSI boot or UART boot. Please do not use SD card. Please refer to

Thanks a lot , the doc helped me alot but I have a question. Does the part Booting user applications from SD card is not yet supported mean that if I flashed SD card with these binaries the ECU will not boot ?

Yes, you cannot boot your own application code (app) from SD card. It is not supported yet.
