TIDA-00465: damping factor

Part Number: TIDA-00465

Hello Team,

Am i correct, that the H6096NL transoformer will be in series with the magnetics that I have directly after my ethernet phy?

If yes, do you have any idea on the transmission loss it will add, eg. how much less cabling length or dB loss I get on my signal?

Thanks,

  • Hi Mat, yes the ethernet data input port will have an extra phy in series. i don't expect there to be significant loss or data corruption as this architecture is very common in midspan injector products that are available in the industry today.

For example, we have tested in the past connecting a network Ethernet cable to this board and powering up an IP Phone with no issues to making calls.

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks!
