Hi, We have used IRS2186SPBF for driving the mosfets. Dead time is around 250nsecs. Is IRS2186S compatible. Have observed failure in IC, pin 7 and 8 found shorted. Kindly guide.

Hello,

pls note that IRS2186SPBF is not p2p compatible with LM25101C. For instance, pin 8 is high side output for IRS2186SPBF, while pin 8 is low side output for LM25101C. Pls make sure that you follow the application guidelines of IRS2186SPBF.

Thanks. yes. We have taken care of this part. It will be of great help if you can guide what could be the possible reasons for failure of this IC. Due care has been taken rerlated to layout part too.

Hello,

since IRS2186SPBF is an Infineon part, maybe it will be better you could try to seek some further help from Infineon. From my side, I would recommend that you could try to probe the switching node, to see if any ringing or overshot could cause the IC short failure.
