PMP30763: Over current protection circuit

Hello,

I have a question regarding the circuit used to measure the output current. At first sight, it looks like designed to protect against output currents higher than 16A based on the note "OCP@16A". However, I don't quite understand how actually this circuit is working. The overcurrent seems to change the LL/SS level, which is related with the burst mode functionality.

Could you please clarify this point?

Thanks for your question. You are right, the OCP protections should have been performed in a different way. I am sorry for any inconvenience!

Actually I used the same circuit in other power supplies, but with different controllers.

For the PMP30763, please remove R70 and connect the collector (pin 4) of the optocoupler U12 directly to BLK pin (pin 4 of U2). This way the optocoupler, during and OCP condition, will set the controller into input voltage UVLO, and switch it off.

Please let me know if that solves the issue.
