PMP7233: Simulator for automotive cranking pulses evaluation module -AUTOCRANKSIM-EVM (HVL068A)

Part Number: PMP7233
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AUTOCRANKSIM-EVM, TPS40170

Hi Team,

Currently, we plan to use AUTOCRANKSIM-EVM (HVAL068A)

Here I attached the waveform which we want to generate from it.

Questions:

Can It generate the attached waveform or suggest another solution for generating the waveform?

As per our attached waveform & Voltage range.
Required Output Voltage range is 2 to 28.5V dc.
Please confirm Out voltage range of EVM: AUTOCRANKSIM-EVM (HVAL068A).
In User guide “HVL068A Cranking Simulator User's Guide”
Output Voltage range is 2 V to 15 V dc.
Can we change it? Please give suggestions for it.

please provide prices & Delivery period.

  • Hello Chintan,

    this tiny generator is based on a buck converter using TPS40170 and a VID interface to control the output voltage;
the I/Os of the uProc MSP430 are controlling the voltage itself by switching weighted resistors in parallel
at the feedback divider, please check schematics.

For using our EVM up to 29Vout (needs >32Vin) you need to make a redesign regarding input bulk capacitor, FET's,
3V3 bias regulator and output capacitors to w/stand the higher voltages.

    Best regards, Bernd

  • Hi Bernd,

Can we modify hard-programmed cranking puls ("DaimlerChrysler Engine-Cranking Test Pulse, DC-10615") according to our requirement?

  • Hello Chintan,

YES, if you change the hardware to input voltage 32V you can program any waveform in between 2V to 28.5V output range,

    best regards, Bernd
