about the Base Board Current Limitations

Thanks to Riccardo answer before

"currently, the current cannot be increased because the inductors are sized for 10 A. If the current is pushed higher, inductors will saturate. I am referring to the 480 uH inductors present in the design."

is there any other limitation to the current from getting higher than 10 A to 16 A except the inductors ?

I am talking about the Layout and Design rules used in the design.

Hi,

Inductors must be changed. There is not other change required in the reference design.

Thanks Riccardo. This project represents a large investment for us. For that can we get a confirmation about the 10A limit from a more senior person? Ideally from the reference design designer? Kind Regards

Hi,

You are welcome.

From our side we cannot give you any confirmation about the future design that you are going to do. The reason is that there are many parameters involved in the process of the thermal design:

cooling system
layout
ambient temperature
switching speed of the devices
etc.

What I can provide you as feedback is that 10 A is not going to be a problem in TIDA 10210 system like it is. I am receiving the new boards with new layout next week. Experimental confirmation will arrive soon.
