TIDA-00951: source code and technical advice

Hello TI,

we are very much interested in using your TIDA-00951, 2-KW, 48 to 400V, reference design in our design Circuit .
1. Can you please say what are the requirements
2.  Can we have access to the source code?
3. Can we adjust the output voltage to  250V in boost mode and main the same 2KW or higher output power

     Thanks for your fast response.
    First let me say that the TIDA-00951, is a great design. Here are the changes we are hoping for.
    1- instead of 2KW can we Increase  to 2.5KW 
    2 - Can we add a boost circuit to the 48 volts input to allow it to have a wider operating voltage down to 20 to 24 volts even if the total output is less than 2KW at the lower input voltage.
    3 - we would like to be able to select 2 different output voltage in boost mode 200 volt and 400 volts

  • 1, No, to increase the power you need to redesign the magnetic components, and check the thermal rise;

    2,Yes, you can. But, I think boost is not bidirectional. You may need use bi directional DCDC, such as Sync Buck/Boost, or you can redesign the transformer to support lower input;

    3, This can be done with multi winding or half bridge/full bridge on high side.

    TIDA-00951 is an old solution and the designer has left the team.

    Considering the requirements from customers, I think the most suitable solution is TIDM-02002 which has advantages of 1: This topology can be operated with soft-switching on both side; 2: this topology is much popular and well understanding than TIDA-00951. So I recommend you to reference TIDM-02002 for better performance and support. And I suggest you to open a new E2E post if any questions regarding TIDM-02002 and that will lead them to the right owner for support.
