Question about the TPS7A47 / TPS7A33 LDOs used in https://www.ti.com/tool/PMP8372 :

-Is it possible to use two TPS7A47 and two TPS7A33 in parallel to lower the current/power dissipation?
-Any design tips or guidelines for using LDOs in parallel?
-Do we have some PMP/TIDA with LDOs used in parallel?

-Can we please confirm the thermal image is for Vin: 20V, Vout:+/-5V, with simultaneous supply (Iout = 1A on both LDO simultenoulsy)?

Hi Anber,

i believe for LDO, the power dissipation is fixed no matter you parallel one more or not in the power flow.

For LDO in parallel design guide, could you raise another E2E with this two LDO parts regarding their parallel operation. so an expert on this LDO could attend you.

looks like you would like to solve the thermal issue with your design, for 20V to 5V design with 1A output. the LDO dissipation could be very high, unfortunately, I don't have the board on hand to evaluate the thermal. but since the LDO efficiency is quite low, do you think you can use a switching buck converter to meet your system spec as well?
