TIDM-1001: Migrate between F28002x and F28003x on powerSUITE

Hi champs,

I am currently doing the migration of TIDM-1001 from F28002x to F28003x. The nonpowerSUITE version works normally, but the powerSUITE version code cannot change the device to F28003x. Once I modify main.syscfg to F28003x, it will automatically change back to F28002x afterwards. And in generated files it is still F28002x. I think this should be the reason why PowerSUITE cannot directly change the device on the interface.

So could you please kindly give me some suggestions on how to modify powerSUITE to F28003x? Thanks!

Hi Julia,

In order to change the device directory for the generated Kit.json file, you will need to modify the device filed within the solution.js file. Once you do that, the Kit.json will be generated to the different directory. In order to change the device reference in main.syscfg, you need to change that in the 'generated files' tab within sysconfig. Click on 'switch' and select the device. Don't forget to update your project properties to point to the F28002x device support files. In addition, you will need to update your linker command file.

Hi Ozino,

I have changed solution.js file and Generated Files in main.syscfg can be successfully changed. But in "Device View" the device is still F28002x, when I changed the device to F28003x, it will automatically change back to F28002x. So is there a solution to this problem? Thanks!

When does the device revert? Is it after building the project?

Hi Ozino,

The device revert after I closed CCS and restarted CCS. Building the project will not cause the the device revert. Thanks!

Ok. Is this issue replicable? If you delete and reimport the project into the workspace, is the device reset?

Hi Ozino,

Yes, I have tried several times and found that this issue is replicable.

When I delete and reimport the project into the workspace, the device is still F280025. I also tried to export this project and import it into another workspace. The phenomenon is the same, and the device still cannot be modified.

I'll check with the sysconfig team and get back to you once I have identified a proper workaround. In the meantime, can you let me know what versions of C2000Ware, SysConfig tool and CCS you are using.

Hi Ozino,

The CCS version I use is 11.0.0, C2000ware version is 4.00.00.00, C2000Ware_MotorControl_SDK version is 3_03_00_00, and sysconfig version is sysconfig_1.10.0.
