TIDA-01606: C130 across PGND and GND

Part Number: TIDA-01606

Hi team,

I would like to understand what this C130 is for. PGND and GND are actually not isolated by the circuit of INVERTER OUTPUT VOL TAGE SENSING. I'm worry that the C130 would make low impedance path for EMI.

Thanks.

  • Dear Jerry,

    thanks for the interesting question.

Currently, there is an electrical separation between the power ground and the control ground in TIDA 01606.

Two important connections are present between GND and POWER GND nets on the board:

    • Capacitor C130
    • Resistors used for the voltage measurements.

Each single voltage measurement is going to contribute with an equivalent 4 MOhm resistance. A total equivalent resistance of 4 MOhm/(Number of measurements) is seen between the two grounds. The first net that can be affected by noise is the 1V65. If the resistance starts to be not big enough this can be a problem.

In order to avoid parasitic currents closing through the resistors, so causing issues to the 1V65 for example, a capacitor can be a good solution. The capacitor will absorb part of the noise.

    Thanks for your attention

    Best Regards

    Riccardo
