PSPICE-FOR-TI: How can one edit the OLB files for the TI verison of PSPICE?

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA698

I have found an error in the OLB symbol for the OPA698 amplifier (the pin numbers for IN+ and IN- are swapped).  The error doesn't affect the model if one connects per the pin name, but my OCD wants to correct the pin numbers anyway.  Is there a way to do that in the TI version of ORCAD (I've tried poking around, but can't seem to get anywhere that lets me edit the symbol for the "part" repository on my machine)?  Alternately, is there a place to submit bug reports for the TI libraries?

Cheers

  • Hello Joseph,

I am looking into this and will get back to you shortly.  I am not sure there is a way to open and edit the model in PSPICE for TI, but I will test to see if it is possible.

    Alec

  • Hello Joseph,

I have looked into this; I believe it is best you do not try to edit the model on your own.  Without a full ORCAD software suite with model editor and extra features, it would be difficult and time-consuming for you to make the edit.  There is also risk in impacting the ability of the model to work as intended, since this is an older model from 2004.

I will ask my team regarding the possibility of updating the OPA698 model, though the timeline could be longer as it is not a functional issue.

    Best,
    Alec
