TIDA-01022: Analog Input Singal Filtering

Part Number: TIDA-01022

Hi Team

I am using the TIDA-01022 as reference for my design. i have several questions

1. What is the cut of frequency of the input analog filter?

2. Why do you need the analog filtering of inductor and capacitors? The input stage of the DJ3200 is differential and the common mode noise supposed to be canceled.

3. Why do you use the XLF-192+? Is it recommended?

4. Why do you need to use both the analog filter and the XLF-192+?

5. You are using many components on the input path. How do you control the impedance of 100differential(Not maintaining the impedance will cause reflections)?

Thanks,

Roey

  • Hi Roey,

See my comments to your questions below....

    Thanks,

    Rob

    1. What is the cut of frequency of the input analog filter? RR: per the user guide the filter is 2.2GHz

    2. Why do you need the analog filtering of inductor and capacitors? The input stage of the DJ3200 is differential and the common mode noise supposed to be canceled.

RR: the filter was designed to remove the wideband noise of the amplifier stage, this is very common. This has nothing to do with a differential input to the ADC.

    3. Why do you use the XLF-192+? Is it recommended? RR: this is an alternate path using a balun and filter instead of the active amplifier input. You could effectively bypass this filter, there is a resistor options to do so.

    4. Why do you need to use both the analog filter and the XLF-192+? RR: you don't, this is all explained in the user guide of this reference design. You would use one path of the other, see my comments on #3.

    5. You are using many components on the input path. How do you control the impedance of 100differential(Not maintaining the impedance will cause reflections)? RR: this is done with the anti-aliasing filter design and back terminations between the amp outputs and the ADC analog inputs.
