TIDA-01573: Driving Pulsed diode with 100ns pulse, 10A current and 0.1 duty cycle

Part Number: TIDA-01573
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMG1020

Hi Team,

I would like to know if the TIDA-01573/LMG1020EVM will be suitable to drive Hamamatsu Pulsed Laser Diode L11348-307-05. The device spec is punctured below:

I check the TIDA-01573 and it was capable of delivering 60A 1ns current pulses. What should be modified in the design to make this suitable for 10A 100ns pulse?

If not suitable, can you recommend other devices?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hello Marvin,

Yes, the LMG1020 can work with that laser diode. For step by step instructions, you can also follow the EVM user's guide for how to use the LMG1020 with a laser diode.

The guide recommends you start out a resistor load soldered on the board. You use the resistor load to get the right pulse settings, then you remove the resistor load and attach the laser diode.

    Best Regards,
