TIDA-00951: Converter for the Inverter

Part Number: TIDA-00951

Hi,

Good Day.

I have an inverter with 800V max DC voltage applied, 50A/1200V rating. Can I use the TIDA-00951 converter and use it with this inverter?

Also, in parallel, can I connect TIDM-SOLAR-DCDC with a battery at the DC link to charge and discharge the battery? If not, please let me know what other possibilities can be used from TI.

We have a 2KW solar array simulator and battery emulator (4KW). Please I need help with the component selection.

Please advise. Thank you very much.

Best Regards,

Ray Vincent

  • Hi Ray,

Our experts in China are taking a 5 day holiday. Please expect some delay. Thank You

  • Hi Ray,

TIDA-00951 is a bi-directional DCDC (48V-400V). We are working on a new bi-directional DCDC for energy storage and portable power station, let me bridge you with our designer. Can you also share your spec please?  Input and output voltage? Power rating? Other critical requirements?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Ryan,

Good Day. Please see below the response of our customer to your reply. Thank you very much.

We require a dc-dc converter, bidirectional, to charge/discharge the battery, with voltage 600V-200V, 3kw power. However, since we have a battery emulator, we thought of using the same converter 00951 of TI. Our concern was whether we can use the same specifications to connect it to the inverter that we already have. It’s specifications are dc link voltage up to 800V, 1200V, and 50A at the output.

  • Hi Ryan,

Good Day. Another response from our customer. Thank you very much.

I needed to ask about another product, TIDM SOLAR DC-DC - can we use the same system for a higher power rating i.e. up to 2KW? I have the same question for TIDA 00951. The voltage range is the same as we are going to use but the power rating is high up to 2kw or 2.5kw. We have a solar array simulator of 2KW,150V/40A, 220V input which is to be interfaced with the dc-dc converter for MPPT control and it is to be connected to a 3-phase inverter (dc-link voltage upto 800V, 1200v 50A output). In parallel, a battery simulator (6KW/600V/40A), interfaced with the dc-dc converter (we need a 2KW power rating converter) is connected to the same inverter. So, I need possibilities for 2 converters, one dc-dc converter with MPPT, and another bidirectional dc-dc converter to be connected to the battery.

  • Hi Ray,

The reference design TIDM-SOLAR-DCDC can be upgraded in power to 2kW, TIDA-00951 is not suitable for the voltage levels indicated.

  • TIDM-SOLAR-DCDC is rated for only 600W.
