LP-XDS110ET: Is the second UART usable?

Hello,

When I connect the LP-XDS110ET via USB, my computer detects 2 UARTs.

One of them lands on the 2x10 connector of the board. Is it possible to use the GPIOs to expose the other one? Or is it available somewhere else on the board?

Hello PA,

One COM Port (Application/User UART) is available for backchannel UART communication. The other (Auxiliary Data Port) cannot be used for this purpose. To access a second UART channel you must sky-wire RX/TX pins from your LP-EM-LAUNCHPAD to a secondary LP-XDS110ET and configure your LaunchPad MCU project accordingly.

Hello Ryan,

Thank you for your answer! I could use a second LP-XDS110ET (or other) as an UART/USB "converter", but I would prefer not to.

Is there documentation about that Auxiliary Data Port? It may sound like what I need: A RX only data sink for a custom IWR1642 board that has one config UART and one unidirectional data UART.

Note: All of this is because I can't source the TM4C1294 I need to for my current solution (clone of the XDS110 of the IWR demo board).

The Auxiliary Data Port is not for developer use and additional hardware is required to access a second UART interface. You can post to the ARM-based Microcontroller Forum if you have further questions about the TM4C1294 or Sensors Forum for the IWR1642. Be sure to include exact part numbers in your initial post.
