TIDA-01599: TIDA-01599

Part Number: TIDA-01599
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1211

Hello,

Does the STO inputs from J5, 24V* And can you share the output value of the iso1211dr ? I'm designing and STO board and I have 2 external inputs for 24V STO signals and I need to use them on a safe MCU which has 3.3 V input so I was wondering if I can use the same method as TIDA and if ISO1211dr is suitable for it?

Thank You & Best Regards

  • Hello,

thank you for your interest in the TIDA-01599.

Yes, we read back the 3.3V output signal of the ISO1211 with a C2000 MCU to detect the OSSD pulses. Please refer to the schematic, which you can download under the TIDA-01599 product folder: https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-01599. These are the signals MCU_STO1_In and MCU_STO2_in, a high-level block diagram is shown below.

And yes, the ISO1211 input is compliant to IEC 61131-2; Type 1, 2, 3 characteristics for 24-V isolated digital inputs on J5-4 and J5-1 for STO1 and STO2, respectively.
