CJ,

there is basically one coil used for both drive and sense.  The description of the winding you found is valid.  The sensor portion is inline current sensing of the driver coil via a 1kohm resistor as described in 3.1.1.  

Just think of having a single wire that has a current sensing resistor inline for sensing.   The voltage drop across the sensing resistor goes to J5.

there are four connections because the coil wire is cut in the middle for the sensing resistor.

Thanks for your reply, but still I am not sure how to build this sensor.

It looks like two winds of same turns which were wound like one wire. One winding is for driving, and the other is for sensing.

Can you please draw a diagram for me?  That would be great help!

think of a single wire that is wound around a coil.  Now how do you measure the current flowing in the wire? you can put a resistor in the middle for inline current sensing.  you can drive the wire at point 1 and 4. sense the current at point 2 and 3.

CJ, I found out that the coil we used was wounded by a company called Torelco.  they have the machine to wound the coil to spec

Based on your drawing, I understand that according to the TIDA-010237 schematic, the _BURDEN_ resistor- R22 (1K Ohm), R3 / R4,  and  R7 are all connected in series through wires logically. 

Is it right?

Then it seems that the VSENSE voltage through R7 is the save as the voltage through the _BURDEN_ resistor.

Is it correct?

Why you measure the voltage through the _BURDEN_ resistor instead of using the VSENSE one?
