WEBENCH-POWER-DESIGNER: Webench TPS543620 current limit and Inductor Isat

Tool/software:

Webench selects an inductor that has an Isat that is lower than the TPS543620 current limit.

When working on the following E2E post (+) TPS543620: Regarding output inductor - Power management forum - Power management - TI E2E support forums

I noticed that the Isat of the selected inductor is lower than the lowest current limit setting of the TPS543620.

The current limit should always be lower than the inductor saturation current.

I have not checked webench but the TPS543820 and TPS543320 are part of same family as TPS543620.

Hi David,

Thanks for contacting us. Could you please share the Webench design, this will help us to replicate and debug the issue further.

Please follow below steps.

1. Create the Webench design and click on "Export" tab. Click on share icon just below it.

2. Click "GET LINK" from Public Link tab.

3. Share the generated link with us.

Isat is 2A for inductor , the lower le vel typical current limit is 4.2A

We have fixed the reported issue of Isat of the selected inductor lower than the lowest current limit setting in device TPS543620,TPS543820 and TPS543320.

The update is now available on ti.com.
