LM25149-Q1: simulation not enabled for this design

Part Number: LM25149-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25149, LM25148, , LM25148-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi everyone,

I am trying to simulated LM25149-Q using WEBbench tool but it is showing the "simulation not enabled for this design". So, please let me know is there any another way to do simulation.

Also in EVM design there is Li inductor used in design. Is this for active filter ?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Malakondareddy,

Can you send more specifics of the circuit you're trying to simulate - Vin range, Vout, Iout, Fsw - and I will try it. As an alternative, please refer to the LM25149 quickstart calculator  https://www.ti.com/tool/LM5149-LM25149DESIGN-CALC that provides guidance on component selection and shows efficiency, power stage component power losses, and bode plot.

The input inductor is for EMI filtering. It is a generally smaller size with AEF, but you can also use the LM25148, which is the same controller IC but without AEF.

    Regards,

    Tim

  • Thanks for your response,

    Here are simulated details:

    1. Vin range :18 V to 25 V

    2. Vout : 5 V +- 1%

    3. Iout: 8 A +- 1%

    4. Fsw : Recommended operating frequency

I want to know the how the this will behave at this conditions and  also comparison results between with input filter and without input filter.

Is LM25148-Q1 without filter results is same as LM25149-Q1 with filter ?

    Thanks & Regards,

    B Malakondareddy.

  • Hi Malakondareddy,

In order to expedite your request, please fill out the calculator tool and attach it everything in there should help you design your system.

    https://www.ti.com/tool/LM5149-LM25149DESIGN-CALC

To answer your question about the input filter, Assuming the input power supply is an ideal voltage source the device will behave normally with or without a filter. However, LM25149 may add EMC or conducted emissions to everything else connected to that voltage source if there's no filter at the input.

    Thanks,
    Andrew
