PSPICE-FOR-TI: PSPICE-FOR-TI

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7242C, , ISO7742

Tool/software:

I am using ISO1042QDWRQ1 for CAN, ISO3086DWR for RS422, ISO7242CDWR for isolating RS232. Is there a way to simulate these interfaces and transceivers on TINA TI? Or any other softwares?

  • Hi Joseph,

Digital isolators and pseudo-differential drivers (like RS485, RS422/RS232 and CAN) are modeled using IBIS to evaulated signal integrity.

Functinoally, digital isolators work like level shifters with a fixed delay.

Since IBIS is a drive strength/edge  (or receiver loading impedence) event only, duty cycle and prop delay are not modeled. As a result, they can't be imported into TINA or PSpice.

I can re-direct this to the product line for further support.

  • Hi Joseph,

As David stated, the IBIS models are more appropriate models for evaluating signal integrity and we have IBIS models available for most of our products2

For digital isolators, I recommend you to consider ISO7742 which offers much better performance over ISO7242C. We do also have PSpice model for ISO7742 on its product page which you can simulate in PSPICE-FOR-TI. Let me know, thanks.
