TIDA-010955: Data acquisition and Lebeling

Part Number: TIDA-010955
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC23C11, , TIEVM-ARC-AFE

Tool/software:

Team,

We'd like to know what is the main purpose of this data acquisition and leveling in the TIDA design? In customer real application, there's only arc detection with the current transformer for Arc solution. Why does TIDA need to detect the string voltage and arc voltage sensing?

1. Could you share the more related to the application with this data acquisition and Labeling? It looks it has OV/UV protection with AMC23C11 ISO comparator and window comparator. and also the voltage is sensed by the ADC of DSP. What's the purpose? it's for monitoring on meter or something?

2. In general, customer put the current transformer on the either PV+ or PV-, or both for the arc current detection.

However, if the arc location is happened on either the panel side output or inverter input as red color marked below. What will be happens? Is this TIDA design able to protect?

Regards

  • Hi Brian,

Trying to answer the multiple questions here.

The TIDA-010955 or the orderable version TIEVM-ARC-AFE was designed with the intent to do arc acquisition and labeling. To do that effective it is good to have a channel that can detect if an arc was generated which then can be recorded with the noise pattern captured by the signal path

    1. Acquisition and labeling are part of all AI algorithm training and see answer above.

    2. The CT is there to detect the noise pattern and is only needed on either PV+ or PV-

The design can detect arcs that generate a pattern on the PV line no matter where the arc is happening. Most arc happens in the connectors between the different panel due to mechanical wear and tear.
