PMP31349: Ask for 48V/12V discrete solution

Hi Expert,

This is for Compal ORV3 management board project, end customer is Dell.

Customer needs 48V to 12V solution, spec as below.

40~60Vdc input, 12Vdc output max 300W

I've proposed following solutions, but they prefer discrete solution because thermal concern.  

PMP4435 reference design | TI.com (300W)

PMP31349 reference design | TI.com (240W)

PMP23340C2K reference design | TI.com (1.1kW)

Is PMP31349 the discrete solution or not?

Do you other suggestion?

  • Hi Allen,

    PMP31349 uses our LM5148 Buck controller + (external) LMG2100 GaN Half bridge.

    It can be a good starting point, but it should be optimized according to customers' requirements.

    A first idea could be to replace LMG2100 with 2*LMG3100 (Single GaN FET), to spread the power dissipation between 2 devices.
