Is the USB2ANY required to run the TPS55285EVM? Can this EVM work without it?

Hi Max,

Thank you for reaching out.

By setting mode pin resistor to 24.9kohm, TPS55285 can start up without a USB2ANY. All registers are default and unchangeable. Recommend to use a USB2ANY for more functions.

Hi Mulin,

Thankyou.

We were able to start the board. However, the Vout we are getting is ~2.85V, which makes sense based on the VREF: 0.3V, RFB_UP: 102,049 ohm, and RFB_BT: 11.3Kohm.

Is it possible to modify the VREF without the USB2ANY? We want to test the different loads based on Table 1-2 of the EVM:

Hi Max,

VREF cannot be changed without a USB2ANY. You can change RFB_BT to change target Vout.
