Verification needed on WEBENCH Designer solution for LMZ10503

Hi, I used the WEBENCH Designer to find a buck converter regulating a voltage in of 3.4 to 3.6V, with a desired regulated voltage out of 3.3V and 0.3A.

Actually I wasn't expecting it to find anything, as I understand that some margin is required. However it found a solution using an LMZ10503.

I'd like to know if this is really going to work or not. Its datasheet only rates it up to 2.5V for these operating parameters, and I need 3.3V out. Doesn't it require a larger margin, as in the datasheet?

    Hi David,

    It looks like the datasheet tables and charts show the part's performance at typical design input and output conditions. While Vin=3.4V to 3.6V to Vout=3.3V may not be a typical design condition, the design can still work.

    The LMZ10503 will be able to regulate 3.3 Vout at that input range but it may not be at the part's peak efficiency.
