Hi,

Could you tell me about TPS62200 webench simulation?
Customer simulation was performed following conditions.

◇Vin=5V　Vout=3.3V　Iout=0.1A

However, The following images are displayed.
Error phase margin in the intial state.

I want to secure the phase.
In there method to change a part,
and tosecure phase margin?

Yusuke-san,

We are investigating this issue. The design should not be created if the phase margin is too low.

Yusuke-san,

This is a relatively older device which is supported by SwitcherPro Designer so we will need to dig deeper to find out about the loop response model implemented within the software tool. I am still trying to see if I can get some information regarding the internal parameters used for the model, especially the internal compensation design.

In the meanwhile, I went through the design recommended by WEBENCH and the design itself is following the datasheet guidelines correctly when it comes to picking the inductor, input and output cap and the resistor dividers alongwith the compensation network components. This information starts on page 11 of the datasheet. I did a transient model simulation using TINA-TI with the exact design reported by WEBENCH and the waveforms look just fine.

I will get back to you once I have more information regarding the loop model.

Yusuke-san,

I had extensive discussion with the internal design team related to this device. The datasheet guidelines on which the design is based are good and with a similar design case as yours, the phase margin is over 50 degrees and stable. The model is not estimating the phase accurately. However, we cannot really fix this device now as it belongs to the SwitcherPro tool category to which we do not make anymore updates or major fixes. Therefore, we would recommend that for your analysis, you can use the transient models under the "Tools & software" category on the product folder page of TPS62200. You might also want to try other newer ICs like TPS62240 or the TPS62740 family within the WEBENCH tool to see if they fit your needs.
