PSpice model for OPA567

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA567, TINA-TI

I need a PSpice model for OPA567.  TI only provides TINA-TI model.  Does anyone know if the Spice information can be extracted from the TINA model?

  • John,

The OPA567 model was developed in PSPICE, and I'm not sure why we don't make a PSPICE version available - I have someone looking into that.

In the meantime, you can download the TINA model or reference design, open it in TINA-TI, double-click the symbol and choose "Enter Macro". This will open the netlist for the macromodel. You can then copy the syntax to your simulator’s particular model file type and add the appropriate name and file extension. You will have to create a symbol file as well.

  • John,

TINA-TI is a schematic capture program while PSpice is its simulator.  You may generate a PSpice netlist directly from the TINA-TI schematic by going to FILE -> EXPORT -> NETLIST -> PSPICE or TINA (there are small netlist diffferences between PSpice and TINA in order to support Tina-specific features) but you may generate either one from TINA-TI circuit schematic.

It would really help if TI would simply publish the PSpice model.  Seems wrong to have to install TINA-TI just to extract models that could easily be provided.

I had conversed on email with Karen Ford in TI Technical Support previously about getting a PSpice model, and she did not seem to be too interested in helping me get one other than recommend this forum.

    Anyway, thanks for the answer.

  • John,

I agree, and we will be publishing the PSPICE model - it's in our queue now. Like I said before, I don't understand why we didn't have it before. Thanks for your patience and interest in TI products.
