TINA/Spice/LMH6881: How to simulate OIP3 and NF by using TINA or TINA-TI

Part Number: LMH6881
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello,

I have a question about LMH6881 TINA-TI Model.

[Q]

Please tell me how to simulate OIP3 and NF by using TINA or TINA-TI.

The TINA-TI reference design attached the following figures.

I would like to simulate these.

  • Hiroshi-san,

There are no direct ways to simulate OIP3 or NF in TINA.

The OIP3 curve was done with a set of Fourier series simulations to first get the IMD3 at the different gain settings.
Then, Excel was used to convert the IMD3 to OIP3 and plot the result.

The NF curve was done by with a noise analysis at each gain setting.
The results of the noise sims were then used to calculate and plot the equivalent noise figure in Excel.

    I hope this helps.
Please le me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
    John

  • Hi John-san,

Thank you for your fast response.
    OK, I understood the method.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
