UCC28063 SUITABLE FOR 3KW PFC CORRECTION

  • Hi,

For 3KW CCM PFC will be the good option. Please take a look at UCC28070 interleaved CCM PFC IC.

    Best Regards,

  • HI
    Thanks for your advise
I calculate with software ucc28070 2.5kw 390v output f=60khz i inductor = 16A and in low voltage input 85v input current around 30A this current difficult in pcb
in pcb min distance two track for 1000v dc isolate how much in mm ?
and max (current /mm^2 ) how much must gate when no have air cooling for pcb ?
    best regards
  • Hi Omid,

Yes, it is a tough design; but it is possible to do in PCB. You will need thicker Copper on PCB (may be 105u).

The spacing required will depend on many parameters like PCB material, pollution level, altitude etc. IEC/UL 60950-1 2nd Edition Tables 2K, 2L, 2M or 2N give the spacing requirements based on these. For equipments not covered by this standard, IPC-2221B gives the spacing required. It is 5mm for 1000V as per this, but this is only indicative - you should use the appropriate spacing as per the requirements of the system you are designing.

Typically you will need around 10mm wide trace for 30A current if you use 105u Copper. It will increase to about 16mm for 70u Copper.
