TINA/Spice/INA199-Q1: Simulation not working when combining INA199-Q1 and TAS5421-Q1

Part Number: INA199-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, TAS5421-Q1,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi Team,

I am trying to run a transient simulation using the TAS5421-Q1 and the INA199-Q1. In this circuit, the INA199-Q1 is simply detecting the current going to the speaker/load. When I run the TAS5421-Q1 simulation standalone (as directed in blue in the file), the simulation runs fine. Once I implement the INA199-Q1 into the circuit, the analysis fails.

Any guidance you have to help the simulation run would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Jared,

    Thanks for uploading your circuit.
It looks like the transient sim is failing when trying to calculate the initial operating point.

One alternative is to skip the initial operating point at the start of the transient sim.
    After selecting Analysis/Transient, a pop-up appears.
In the pop-up select "Zero Initial Values" before clicking "OK" as shown in the graphic below.

The sim seems to run fine after that.

    Regards,
    John
