TIDA-00982: 4 Ah capacity

Hello 

In the datasheet for the TIDA-00982 reference design it is stated that:

"The board is scalable and can be
used with battery packs with up to 4 Ah capacity"

What would happen if i were to use battery packs with 6 Ah capacity?

    Hi Simon,
    The bq4050 used on the TIDA-00982 can handle capacity up to 65535 mAh. See the design guide section 1 for specifications for the board. See discussion of the design elsewhere in the design guide. If you configure the gauge properly and the battery will not provide higher short circuit currents it seems it should work with the higher capacity battery.
