PMP20220 is a Type 2, Class 4 PoE PD per IEEE802.3at with the input power limited to 25.5W. The 802.3at specification supersedes the IEEE802.3af specification and contains the requirements for both Type 1, Class 1-3 (802.3af) and Type 2, Class 4 PoE PSEs/PDs.
PMP20220 can operate from a Type 1 (af) PSE, but the input power will be limited to 13W.
Note, the new IEEE802.3bt specification that will be release later this year contains the PSE/PD requirements for Type 1 (af), Type 2 (at), and the new Type 3, Class 5-6 and Type 4, Class 7-8. Class 8 will allow a maximum of 90W at the PSE output and 71W at the PD input.
