PMP6712: pmp6712 active buck snubber operation

Part Number: PMP6712

Hi all,

Could someone please briefly explain me the operation principle of the active buck snubber that is used in pmp6712 circuit schematic.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Kind regards,

Mert.

  • Hi Mert,

  • Hi Mert,

The buck active snubber waits for the SNUB voltage to reach 75V, then it turns on the switch Q27, the inductor starts to charge and decreases the voltage on SNUB. The energy is recycled to the output. This cycle happens at the same frequency as the main power supply switching frequency.

    Thanks,
    Robert
