PMP9772: Maximum output voltage and current capapility?

Hi TI,

TPS61088 can give 12V,4.7A (56 W) output at 60 degree celcius for input range 6V - 8.4V (according to WEBENCH designer). But our input range is 2.5V-4.2V and we want to drive 45W-50W load.

So,can PMP9772 fulfill our requirement?

    Hi Sir,

    PMP9772 is mainly for the low input voltage application. Especially fit for the super cap input which Vin is between 0.9-2.7V. As the power stage convert use TPS61088, so the maximum output power is limited by the peak switch current of the TPS61088, which is around 11A. That is when Vin=2.5V, Vo=12V, the maximum Io=(11/1.15)*2.5*0.9/12=1.79A.  Where 1.15 is the peak-peak inductor current ratio, 0.9 is the conversion efficiency.

    So for your application, please use s boost controller like TPS40210 or TPS43061.
