TINA/Spice/TLV3012-Q1: TLV3012-Q1

Part Number: TLV3012-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, , TLV3012

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello,

We are using TlV3012-Q1 comparator  for power level detection. We would like to set power under voltage detection at 11V. Now we want hysteresis of 0.4V. We connected circuit as per  datasheet in figure 23. That gives us values 115K and 10K for hysteresis of 0.4V.

Now we want comparator output changes transitions at 11V and 11,4V,  simulated circuit in TINA however at 11.4V it does not changes. I have attached TINA file for reference. Can  anybody confirms that our circuit is OK or any alteration is required?

  • Hi Amod,

To show the behavior you intent to design:
    1. Analysis -> DC Analysis -> DC transfer Characteristic
    2. On the GUI of DC Transfer Characteristic, change "Input" from R1 -> V2
This is because you're sweeping against input generator/voltage of V2 changes.
    3. Since you are using resistor divider going into the comparator by using R4 and R5, set
your "end value" into something larger than 11.4V such as 20V.
    4. Click on "enable hysteresis run"
    5. Click ok to run
    6. Adjust your schematic resistors accordingly to get the desired characteristic.
