TINA/Spice/TPS92518: Spice model VIADJ Pins

Part Number: TPS92518
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

What exactly do the VIADJ pins do on the spice model for this part (they arn't real pins) i think they must be related to the LEDx_PKTH_DAC register which relates to CSP and CSN and current sensing however
the reference deign (TPS92518 TINA-TI Reference Design (Rev. A)) has 88V on these pins which means it cant be directly related to it internal voltages.

What voltage input range applies to these pins and how does it relate to the LEDx_PKTH_DAC register as i cant find this information anywhere, and it is not mentioned on reference design

  • Please refer to datasheet, in functional block diagram you can see VIadj1 is connected to DAC1. This means we are providing the digital code directly to this pin as a voltage and the model will process it internally as code 88, as an example. The range of acceptable voltages are dictated by the DAC, an 8bit DAC can have code 0 to 255 .
