TIDA-00378: Angle between photodiode and LED

Hello everybody,


I am building the dust sensor using TIDA-00378. I think about the angle between led and photodiode. What is the reason that the angle equals about (2/3)π? I did not find this information neither in TIDA00378's user guide nor GP2Y1010AU0F's datesheet.
