TIDA-050012: Firmware for TIDA-050012

Hi,

I'd like to use TIDA-050012 to do some USB PD research. Could you please share me with the required bin files. I've got the configuration tools but I can not find any required firmware files in the User guide.

    Hi Henry,

    Please download the latest GUI tool and start a new TPS65987D project. It doesn't matter which selections you choose, it just needs to be for the 87D. Next, click on Project --> Import Settings from Project and select the following .PJT file: 5164.TIDA-050012.pjt

    This will ensure you have the latest firmware base image on your board along with the correct settings for TIDA-050012.

    Hi Eric,

    Thanks for your reply. The GUI tool I have is called Application Customization Tool downloaded from TPS65987D product page. I can only find 81, 82, 86 and 88DDH in the device list if I start a new project. There is no project device for 87D. Please kindly clarify this for me.

    Hi Henry,

    Apologies, but the latest GUI release has an error and did not include 87D templates. Instead, can you select Project --> Load Project and select the .pjt file that I sent in my last post?
    Afterwards, you can select "Change File" under Firmware Base Image and select "TPS65987_88_F707_10_06.bin" which can be found under C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\TPS65981_2_6_7_8 Application Customization 5.1\tps6598x-application-customization
